Wafer Roll Line Per-Shift Energy Ledger

Put your own gas and electricity tariff against the line’s rated demand and get a cost per shift and a cost per thousand pieces. The rated figures are from the UD05 specification sheet, revision May 2025; the tariffs are yours, because we do not know what you pay.

Line, shift and tariff inputs

What the shift costs

Set your tariffs, then work out the shift.

What this ledger assumes

Connected load, not metered demand

The kilowatt and gas figures are connected loads. Multiplying them by a full shift gives a ceiling: the number to size a gas train and an electrical supply against, not the number your meter reads once burners cycle and the line idles through changeovers. Treat the result as an upper bound on cost, not a forecast of it.

The gas basis

Liquefied petroleum gas is metered in kilograms and natural gas in cubic metres, so the gas tariff field means whichever unit your supply uses. The UD05-2 draws 6 kg/h or 8 m³/h and the UD05-3 draws 8 kg/h or 10 m³/h. Comparing a gas cost against someone else’s without checking the unit is the most common error in this calculation.

What the figures exclude

Warm-up, changeover, cleaning, downtime and rejects are all outside these numbers, and so is everything upstream and downstream of the line itself. The cost per thousand pieces moves with the piece count you enter, so put your own running minutes behind it rather than a full shift at rate.
