Biscuit line listings publish capacity on at least three different bases, and two quotations cannot be ranked until they sit on one. Put any published figure in here and it comes back on all four bases at once, including pieces per hour once you give the finished piece weight.

Convert a published figure

Piece weight is only needed to cross the mass/count boundary. Leave it at zero and the count column is reported as not derivable rather than guessed.

Why the bases have to be reconciled first

The conversion model, stated

Order of operations

  • Every input is first brought to kilograms per 24 hours and rounded to the nearest kilogram
  • Kilograms per hour = kilograms per 24 hours divided by 24, rounded to the nearest kilogram
  • Pounds per hour = kilograms per hour multiplied by 2.2046, rounded to the nearest pound
  • Pieces per hour = kilograms per hour multiplied by 1,000 and divided by the piece weight in grams

Why it rounds at each step rather than at the end

  • It reproduces the way this line’s own specification is published: 4,000 kg per 24 h, then 167 kg/h, then 368 lb/h
  • A single unrounded chain gives a different last digit from every published sheet you are comparing against, which is worse than being consistent
  • Where a conversion cannot be made — no piece weight, unknown basis, negative input — the tool returns nothing rather than a plausible number
